Complex business apps sometimes require more sophisticated native technology platforms. Microsoft is folding their most important native platforms, including WPF and UWP, into WinUI. This allows them to interoperate, and for projects to take advantage of Microsoft's continued investment in native technologies. This session will explain the philosophy of WinUI, and demonstrate some of the most important capabilities of the current version, WinUI3, built on .NET 6. Advantages (now and coming) of WinUI3 will be covered, as well as noting some pitfalls in using it.

You will learn:

  • Understand why WinUI is bringing together Microsoft's most important native UI platforms
  • See how moving from WPF to WinUI can offer important new functionality in your apps
  • Learn some of the challenges in moving to WinUI 3 based on a real project
