Git is a free, open source distributed version control system. It has become wildly popular as a way to not only manage source code, but also share code with others. This session will cover the basics of using Git. You will become familiar with repos, committing changes, branching and merging. You'll see how to work with both new and existing projects, how to store your code in both GitHub and Visual Studio Team Services and how to work with Git in Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
