In many environments live connections to the internet are either not available or prohibited for security reasons. This situation impedes direct connectivity to the cloud for creating IoT solutions. To solve this problem many customers are turning to edge solutions that will allow them to collect and process device data at the edge and later forward it to a cloud solution. Azure IoT Edge provides a comprehensive solution in this space that extends the capabilities of Azure IoT Hub. In this session we will examine how to build IoT Edge solutions using Visual Studio Code and deploy an IoT Edge solution to a Raspberry Pi edge device.
